Vilas del Turbón is characterised by being oligometallic, or low mineralisation as this is also known. Drinking sufficient quantities of low-mineralisation water leads to a fast diuretic response, which may be of use in cases of lithiasis and some renal affections. Due to all of these benefits, it was declared medicinal mineral water in 1958.
